Samantha Pleet

So I was searching on Vogue for some of the Spring/Summer 2011 collections (which I will blog about another time) when I came across Samantha Pleet. I had never heard of her before but I am interested in her style. There were not many things that I could find about her but from her website I learned that she is an American design from Brooklyn.

This collection is her Autumn collection for 2010, so yeah I am a little late. I do like the colours that Pleet has used here. But I would just want to know why it is that in the autumn and winter colours that everyone changes from the bright colours from the summer to almost dull looking colours - call me naive in fashion - but why can we not wear bright or brighter colours?

Anyway, if I do find Samantha Pleet's collection in the shops I would like to buy something of hers. Though I would not exactly wear what the model's choice, I do like the jump suit from image 4 and the coat from image 6.
I have to admit I have a very bad habit for liking black clothing. I guess to break this habit would be buying brighter clothes right?

Graphic Designs

A designer called Glennz

I have originally made this blog a 'design' blog but I haven't posted many things to do with design or photography (but I have a reason for that, as I'm waiting for my Nikon to arrive.)

My friend and I are starting a Christian clothing label called Just Jesus Clothing. It's new and we're still trying to get it off the ground. So in order to get some real good designs out, I've been refreshing my mind with some amazing graphic designs, photography, illustration - anything! I haven't done many graphics designs since I left college in May.

I was looking through some of the graphic design blogs that I used to use during A Level Graphics and I stumbled across some really really good designs.
One of my favourite websites would be Abduzeedo which is just a fantastic resource for unlimited photographic inspiration, illustration, logos design and other variations of graphic designs.

I'm not sure where I got this painting from but I absolutely love it. I love the detail in both the paintings. I think what draws me to these paintings is the colour as it seems to say quite a lot about the woman's emotion.
When I look at the paintings, especially the right image, it seems that the blue is showing the woman the calmness but her lips desire something more than peace - perhaps love? perhaps hatred? The splashes of colour above her cheek could show how she's letting it affect her mind.
That's just my perspective of what it could mean. :)

January Sales

Well, well, well. What do I see here? January Sales? Oh yes!
Forever 21 notified me that there is a boxing day sale. ASOS is also having a January sale. But sadly, pay day has not arrived...yet.

I don't know if it's just me but whenever I don't have any money present in my account, I see everything that I want to buy. When I do have money, most things that I've window shopped for have all disappeared.

ASOS - A few of my wants to buy this sale :)

YAYER.CO.UK a new website I discovered through Llymlrs :) A couple of cardigans that I thought were worth posting.
I really like these vintage cardigans. Never before had I paid attention to Vintage clothing but now! There will be more posts for Vintage clothing. :)

Dresses and Tops

Just browsing through the website Forever21 looking for yet more winter clothes. I saved the website under the 'sweaters' page, so I had a little nose through there. They have some really good sweaters. I only recently found out about this website and I am quite pleased with what I see! I really like the stylists choice for the photoshoot. I know it's there job but some of the styles that I've seen on other websites do not look as appealing!
I am happy for the new discovery :)

Rings!

I'm starting to like the look of rings. These rings are from the Vintage website I posted about earlier.
I couldn't wear too many rings only because my fingers were really skinny and they would usually slip right off. But now I'm looking at them and I really like the designs of them. For example Topshop have some nice designs:

I really like the creativity behind these rings. I really like the fourth image because I like the colours in it and the little bird that is almost hiding in the design.

I uploaded a few more photos of some designs of rings that I thought were amazing. I love the Tassel design. How many rings do you see with Tassels? The record player is so cool! Made my day!

Baby Phat

I was just looking at the American clothing company Baby Phat and I was admiring the clothes that they sell. I wasn't too hot on their clothes at first, it wasn't very appealing, but now there are a few things that I am starting to appreciate.
Baby Phat is a company owned by Kimora Lee Simmons. In America it is like the African American designer label, along with other big names such as Phat Farm (Baby Phat's counterpart), Rocawear and Apple Bottoms.

I liked this jacket. Think I might have to buy it one day :)

I like these boots, but I'm still thinking whether I should buy them. I like them because they are not found in London... as yet. But I like the colour and style that was used on this trainer. What do you think?

Last but not least the BP trainers. There nice crisp white trainers but it's something summary isn't it?

New Shoes

So today, I decided to go to Walthamstow just to get out of the house. Well did I expect to stumble across these beautiful boots? I did. Oh dear. Another 'surprising' purchase but taha! I have a pair of military boots that will keep me going for a few years :)
I'm not even sure of the name of the shop but they have always done some real good shoes for decent prices. I got these boots for £24.99 so I was quite happy about that :D

I took these photos with a digital camera so excuse me if they don't come out that good.

On the search

So I'm back to blog! I have no camera at the moment so it's Internet pictures sadly.
I'm on the search for a decent size satchel that looks very pretty :) I've seen some around, but I'm just not satisfied with them :|

I picked out a few good, bad and ugly satchels while browsing online though tehe
This large satchel is from the famous Topshop. I'm not going to sit here and criticize bag designs because this bag is great because it is large but to me it's missing something... I'm yet to decipher what it is. Wow! Don't I sound mean :/
Topshop
£90.00
100% Leather

Sorry for such a bad image :O but I really like this bag. It's so cute and it's a nice colour. It's a good size bag and it's perfect for when travelling lightly, which is probably something I need to start doing!
River Island
£36.99
100% Polyurethane

I honestly can say this is a fabulous bag! The colour is great, it's not the colour that particularly bothers me, its just the style and design. Its not too small which is perfect - My bags has too many things in it. It's nice a compact so this maybe on that Christmas List :D
Topshop
£30.00
100% Polyurethane

I like this bag only because of the design. It's a very precise bag in a sense that you have to wear with certain outfits or certain clothes. I am looking for an all-rounder bag. I think it would definitely spruce up any plain outfit.
River Island
£32.99
36% Polyester, 41% Polyurethane, 3% PVC, 20% Wool
