So this month, the Model of the Month will be supermodel Leslie "Twiggy" Lawson. Born on 19th September 1949, I decided to dedicate the month of September to Mrs Twiggy Lawson. :)
The English model's career bloomed in January 1966 when she was experimenting with the crop haircut for the celebrity hairdresser Leonard. Photographer Barry Lategan took several photos for the Leonard, which he hung in the salon. Fashion journalist, Deidre McSharry from the Daily Express saw the photos and wanted to meet the her.
At the time Twiggy was 16 years old. Her career began to soar shortly after being discovered as she appeared on leading fashion magazines, bringing out her own fashion line called "Twiggy Dresses" in 1967. She became an international sensation, modelling in France, Japan and America during 1965-1970.
