On the Canvas #1

Kayobi | African Clothing & Accessories
A while ago, I came across someone where 'Make Fufu Not War' T-shirt and I was like wow! I like that idea - promoting Ghana and its culture and BOOM! you have Kayobi Clothing.
Kayobi Clothing was founded in Ghana in August 2008 - their purpose "create a brand that truly captured the essence of Africa."

I created another monthly theme - 'On the canvas' is to recognise other great fashion designers, t-shirt labels, photographers - just artists in general really.

As you all know, I don't like to write loads, so I'm going to get to the point, I chose to post this because I like the way that the purpose for the t-shirt is completely different from what I've seen anywhere else.

I love the next styles because they influenced by through the 1950s/60s Pop Art movement.
I love this movement - its the simplicity of the colours that I like and that's what Kayobi Clothing has taken this style and made another rendition.

Black Beauties

Browsing through one of the blogs that I usually read [Harlem Loves] and I came across the Vogue Black (Vogue Italia).
Firstly, I like the fact that they've kept the natural style of black hair - the afro. I think it looks quite cool for this shoot - not being bias or anything. I do like the colours and the energy portrayed in the shoot.

I'm not even sure what they are promoting, but it seems like its just highlighting the black models out there in the world...

My friend turned 19 on Saturday so my friend (pictured above) and I went to the celebration. Of course I brought my camera and took a few snaps so here's what the night brought forth.

New Shoes?

My friend Jasmin and I were doing a bit of window shopping and yes, we ended up in New Look. Bare in mind these photos were taken by my iPhone the shoes look amazing!

Jasmin had fallen in love with the camel wedges with the patent heels. I must say, they were extremely comfortable and yuhh they're on the wish list.
The other three shoes were just there for composition sake haha.

I'm pretty sure they've been times when you look at something on display and it literally looks lifeless but once you seen someone else in it or tried it yourself, then they look alive again. At first, I wasn't a bit fan of these shoes when they were on display, but when Jasmin modelled it, it looked much better.
I quite liked the style but I looking at it more critically, I'm not too keen on the colours.

But tis my opinion, let me know what you think ;)

Topshop AW Collection 2011

I might be incorrect but I'm sure this is Topshop's AW Collection 2011. If you have seen this collection please let me know the correct store ;) even thought I'm 99.99% certain this is Topshop.

Quite a simple collection. The blue cardigan is quite great. Might have to have a browse around for this cardigan, because I do like it - just not that shade of blue though.

I have taken a liken to this bag and the playsuit. Again with my love for polka dots this dress is an instant like! The bag is nice. I like the size of the multi handles.
